The  Late Professor Brahim DJELLOULI
1953-2014

Born in 1953 in  Ain Trab (Sidi Embarek, B.B.A.),Prof. Djellouli  was married and had three Children


A- EDUCATION:

After primary school in Ain Taghrout, Brahim went to the ‘Lycée ABANE Ramdane' in Algiers where he obtained the ‘Baccalauréat' degree in June 1974. Then he joined the ‘Ecole Nationale Poytechnique d'Alger ‘  where he was awarded the engineer degree in Chemical Engineering in June 1980.While working at the University of SETIF (joined in September 1980), he was sent to France for post-graduate studies (Louis Pasteur University , ULP, Strasbourg : DEA in 1985 from Charles Sadron Institute and a doctorate degree from ULP in 1989).

B- TEACHING AND  SCIENTIFIC   ACTIVITIES:      

During the 30 years spent at the university of SETIF,Prof. DJELLOULI taught many courses, ranging from first year undergraduate courses to postgraduate courses such as heat  and mass transfer, catalysis, chemical reactors... Over the same period, he supervised over 20 final year engineering projects  as well as 23 ‘Magister' theses. He also directed 6 Ph.D theses. He was a very active member of the Algerian Chemical Society for more than 20 years and ook part in 31 National Conferences on Chemistry/Chemical Engineering  and gave 27 International Conference Talks (6 Plenary  Lectures) . Prof. DJELLOULI authored 22 papers and was Head of 8 National Research Projects.


C-ADMINISTRATIVE  ACTIVITIES:                                           

             Prof. DJELLOULI held several administrative positions:

  • At the Department of Chemistry (Director, 1981-1982), at the National Institute of Industrial Chemistry  of SETIF(Director, 1991-1994 and 1996-1999 and President of the Scientific Board (1991-1994) and at the Department of Process Engineering (Director,1999-2000, President of the Scientific Board, 1995-1999)
  • At the Faculty of  Engineering Sciences ( Dean, 2000-2001)
  • At the Ferhat ABBAS University of Setif (Vice-Rector in Charge of Postgraduates Studies, 2001-2003)


 When he passed away on December 1, 2014, he was on his way to give  a lecture to his students, Prof. DJELLOULI was the Head of the Laboratory of the Engineering of Chemical Processes, LGPC ( 2000-2014).
